This project has had different stages through development and there was progress that was documented in different ways. The first few stages of progress are documented through the Blog page whilst the remake of the project is fully documented through GitHub.

ABOUT MEMVRHS StudentMy name is Juan Sanchez Roa and I am currently developing an add-on to the 3D animation program Blender that incorporates a virtual camera system shown through an animated example. I am trying to get new and more experience in programming with Python but also with integrating Python scripts with Blender. I have worked with C# before and have made games with it through Unity and console programs. Continuing with this project will be very beneficial to me in giving me experience with Python programming but also adding to my ability to use such add-on for my own projects.
By gaining this new experience and knowledge in Python as well as Blender, it should allow me to better get into a flow state when working on projects. Getting started with a clear goal in mind on my own projects gets me into a flow state where I can really lose myself in the process of creating since I get so focused on the task that the only time I do stop is when I get interrupted during flow. This kind of behavior only really comes out during tasks in which I am very invested or interested in. The focus gained through the task can allow for a lot of progress to be done for projects. Time doesn’t become a factor and the only thing on my mind is the goal and how to reach it. Sometimes too much flow can cause burnout, but with enough passion towards a project flow can be managed much better with the broader goal of project completion in mind. If the creation of this add-on is successful, then it will be available to download for free and be open in GitHub for others to take and modify for themselves to either suit their needs or improve the add-on. If the add-on works, but works very inconsistently then I will be going back into the project to improve it, or improve ease of use if setting it up is too complicated. The animation that to which I will be applying this new add-on will be something a little more action heavy for which I could use a handheld camera. The add-on I am creating is just a new dynamic way to use a camera in animation so all I would need to show what it can do is something to showcase it whether it be short(30 seconds) or long(1-2 minutes). But typically I could use any animation I have already completed that is any length. What I want people to experience is an immersive scene that achieves the immersion through a camera that moves realistically. This kind of experience will be coupled with the availability of the tool for others to achieve the same effect if they wish to. When it comes to what I hope to achieve for myself it all comes to self fulfillment. When I first came about the need for this tool, I pursued a way to use it for my own projects. After seeing the need for it by the rest of the community, I couldn’t help but also try to create this tool for others. This tool is something I really strive to create what I envision in my own animations. My immediate reaction was to look it others provided the tool but to no avail; in such case I wanted to be that provider for others. |
